One of the most critical maintenance chores for your car is changing the regularly. In this article, you will learn how to change your oil quickly and without getting too dirty. This practical exercise will save you a lot of money and will extend the life of your car for thousands of miles.

Changing your oil, isn’t something that anyone can be able to do, and sometimes, changing oil might seem to be easy, but a lot of folks don’t do it right. However, you don’t need to overpay for an oil change, because this is a practical experience that you can do for yourself.

First, you will need to buy the right oil filter, you can choose between the economy and the high-quality filter. The economy filter goes for less than 3000 miles while the high-quality one goes for more than 3000 miles.

First, you will need to unscrew the plug and then quickly pull it out and away from the oil stream. Then clean and drain the plug and install a new gasket in case it is required. The next step you will be required to remove your old oil filter and then make sure that the rubber gasket comes off with it. In case it does not ensure that you peel it from the engine. Now, you can refill the engine using a funnel and a recap bottle; this will ensure that you prevent spills.

Now pour the oil into a large jug. Fill your engine up and then run it until the dashboard oil light goes off. You could then wait for a few minutes, then check the engine dipstick, and in case your car needs more oil add.

If you get everything right, this exercise should be over in 20 minutes. Ensure that you always do a clean job by placing a plastic sheeting on the floor before you remove the plug. Ensure that your car has been properly lifted and is safely above ground to give you enough space to work.
